Dr Mohamed Sahnouni and Dr. Sileshi Semaw, researchers from the CENIEH, have participated in the Sino-African Forum on Paleoanthropology organized by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology (IVPP) and the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, which has been held in Beijing, in May.
It is an international meeting where paleoanthropologists from all over the world have discussed the possible connections between China and Africa in the field of biological and cultural evolution of hominids.
In addition, the researchers form the CENIEH have visited the sites in the Nihewan Basin, located in Hebei province about 150 km northwest from Beijing, and have laid the foundations for future collaborations with their Chinese colleagues.
