Cecilia Calvo Simal has a degree in Architecture from the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). Her career focused on the management and coordination of international projects. In 2017 she began working as a European Project Technician at CENIEH. She mostly took part in E-RIHS PP (The European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science Preparatory Phase) in technical, administrative, logistical and dissemination matters. She also collaborated in ARIADNEplus(Advanced Research Infrastructure for Archaeological Dataset Networking in Europe), IPERION HS (Integrating Platforms for the European Research Infrastructure ON Heritage Science) and SEADDA COST (Saving European Archaeology from the Digital Dark Age). She is currently working as a project manager of the ERC-Starting Grant-949330 project entitled DEATHREVOL: The roots and evolution of the culture-of-death. A taphonomic research of the European Paleolithic record, which has been selected to receive financing from the European Research Council (ERC) within the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program.
