Patricia Bello Alonso receives a doctorate for a thesis on Traceology

This morning Patricia Bello Alonso passed the viva voce for her doctoral thesis on the lithic industry of the Olduvai gorge (Tanzania), supervised by Manuel Santonja, Joaquín Panera and Joseba Rios, researchers at the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH).

This thesis centers on the Acheulean lithic industry of the Tanzanian site of Thiongo Korongo, through an experimental and archaeological approach to economic management based on the analysis of phyla.

The jury, chaired by Manuel Domínguez Rodrigo, from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, and also made up of Pedro Cunha Ribeiro, from the Universidad de Lisboa; Juan Francisco Gibaja Bao, from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC); David Cuenca Solana, from the Universidad de Cantabria, and Eduardo Méndez Quintas, from the Universidad de Vigo, have awarded the new Universidad de Burgos doctor the mark of "Sobresaliente".
