Today commemorates fourteen years of research and dissemination in the facilities inaugurated in 2009, with a visit to the sites in Burgos, and a conference by the prestigious anthropologist Nina Jablonski on skin color and human evolution.
Today the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH) celebrates its 14th anniversary at the Human Evolution Complex, and its technicians and management staff wanted to celebrate by visiting the CENIEH researchers who have been working at the Atapuerca sites since June 16.
The CENIEH staff, accompanied by its director María Martinón-Torres, toured the sites of Gran Dolina, Penal, Cueva Fantasma, Sima del Elefante and Galería, where they took a group photo with the researchers of the Center.
The celebration of the 14th anniversary of CENIEH also includes the 5ht CENIEH Distinguished Annual Lecture, an event whose objective is to bring every year to the city of Burgos a renowned scientist in the field of human evolution, with the collaboration of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) - Ministrio de Ciencia e Innovación.
The guest of the fifth edition of this event, which commemorates fourteen years of research and dissemination in the facilities inaugurated in 2009, is the prestigious anthropologist Prof. Nina Jablonski, who will give a lecture on Friday, July 14th, at 19:00h in the CENIEH Conference room, on skin color and human evolution.
