Rafael Gallareto Sande holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropological Sciences with a focus on Archaeology from the University of the Republic in Uruguay. He has also completed a Master’s in Physical and Forensic Anthropology at the University of Granada and a Master’s in Human Evolution at the University of Burgos. His research has primarily focused on topics related to Paleoneurology and Cognitive Archaeology.
Currently, he is conducting predoctoral research at CENIEH, funded by a grant from the Atapuerca Foundation. His doctoral project focuses on the study and comparative analysis of the neurocranial microstructure in modern humans and extinct hominins, under the supervision of Emiliano Bruner (MNCN), María Martinón Torres (CENIEH), and Palmira Saladié (IPHES).
