Samuel Castillo Jiménez holds a degree in Archaeology from the University of Barcelona. He is currently working on a doctoral thesis on the population dynamics of the Solutrean hunter-gatherer groups in inland iberia from the perspective of the analysis of lithic assemblages. Since 2024 he has been a technician in the Experimental Archaeology Laboratory at the CENIEH, where he carries out tasks related to the resolution of archaeological problems through experimentation with mainly lithic and bone materials, as well as the analysis of Pleistocene and Holocene lithic collections. For the development of these tasks he applies techniques such as the analysis of operational chains, photography or drawing. He has worked on archaeological projects in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Portugal and Spain.
