Conservation and Restoration Laboratory Support Technician

Ana De Miguel Arcones is a Conservator-Restorer of Cultural Heritage specialized in Archaeological and Paleontological Goods, graduated from the Escuela Superior de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales de Madrid (ESCRBC). She furthered her education at the University of West Attica of Greece (UNIWA) through an ERASMUS+ scholarship, in the School of Applied Arts & Culture: Bachelor in Conservation of Antiquities and works of art program.
Her professional experience began at the Majadat Al-Balat Archaeological Site in Cáceres, and continued in foreign institutions such as the Zoological Museum and the Museum of Archeology and History, associated with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She notably contributed at the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid (MANM) within the Technical Conservation Department, conducting various conservation and restoration tasks, as well as preventive conservation, both in the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions for the departments of Protohistory and Colonizations; Prehistory; Greek and Roman Antiquities; Medieval Antiquities; and Numismatics and Medals.
Additionally, she has worked and collaborated with the Spanish School of History and Archaeology in Rome (EEHAR-CSIC) in the restoration of archaeological materials from the Roman baths area of Tusculum (Monte Porzio Catone), and has participated in outreach programs, scientific dissemination, and dissemination for vulnerable groups.
Currently, she serves as a Conservation and Restoration Technician at the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH), contributing to the preservation, conservation, and restoration of the center's collections from the Sierra de Atapuerca, as well as other national and international projects, within the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, in the 1st Experience in Public Administrations call from the Ministry of Labor and Economy, financed by the European Union NextGenerationEU.
