Cristina Valdiosera is a biologist from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and holds a doctorate from the Complutense University of Madrid with a specialization in Archaeogenomics. Since 2020, she has been a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the University of Burgos, and since 2025, she has been a researcher affiliated with the National Research Center on Human Evolution. She currently leads the UBU-CENIEH Transversal Group of Molecular Archaeology and is the principal investigator of an ERC Advanced project (AdMEXture), where she uses genomic and bioarchaeological tools to investigate the process of mestizaje that resulted from the population encounter between Mexico and Spain 500 years ago. She also continues her research lines on prehistoric and historical migrations in the Iberian Peninsula and the Americas. Her work includes studies on the Neolithization of the Iberian Peninsula and Africa and the settlement of America.
