7th Darwin Day - 12 February 2026

Date start
Date end

We celebrate the seventh edition of Darwin Day, a special event marking the anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, a pivotal figure in understanding the evolution of life on Earth and the origins of our own species.

This year, the celebration is particularly focused on young audiences, with an activity designed to help children discover who the author of On the Origin of Species was, why his work transformed our understanding of the world, and the lasting impact he has had on modern science.

Through an educational and participatory activity tailored to their age, participants will explore the concept of evolution in a dynamic and engaging way, while gaining insight into how research carried out in the laboratories of CENIEH contributes to reconstructing our evolutionary history.

This event, held in collaboration with the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) – Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, reflects the commitment of the UCC+I of CENIEH to further promoting a scientific culture around evolution within society.
