The origin of funerary behavior is one approach to how the modern mind arose and, therefore, it is a topic that sparks public interest. In the course of the scientific activity of DEATHREVOL, tasks of different kinds must be documented so that the public can be participants in the different stages of the research. This includes excavation work, capturing data from fossils in the institutions holding the collections, virtual reconstructions of fossil remains or sites, explanatory videos by the researchers, analysis of the results obtained, etc.
By combining these attractive, visual tasks for society with professionalized communication and outreach of the scientific advances made, it is intended to reach the general objectives of this dissemination project, such as: boost scientific culture, convey the research results of the European project DEATHREVOL, help to enhance public scientific-technical literacy by raising the profile of archaeopaleontological heritage, and promote gender equality in scientific outreach by publicizing research projects led by women.
An attractive and accessible website (www.deathrevol.com) will be designed as part of this project to showcase DEATHREVOL, offering access to news about its progress and links to the social media profiles. To do this, a logo to serve as an identifier or corporate image for the project will also be designed. This page currently contains information about the project's objectives, team members and collaborators, publications, news and contact information. In order to fulfil one of the main actions of the FECYT projects and to be able to adjust to the progress of the DEATHREVOL project, it is necessary to update it periodically with regard to different contents including: scientific results, job offers, dissemination activities, etc. In addition, during the FCT-22 call, we have incorporated two new sections: "SITES", which contains an interactive map on human evolution; and "PODCAST" which includes the link to the different chapters of the podcast entitled "Stories of Prehistory".
A FanPage profile will be created on Facebook and Instagram, where we will publish a minimum of two audiovisual or photomontage pieces per week, of original content produced by ourselves, to communicate the research project and its advances. At the end of this communication project, we will have a minimum of 70 scientific outreach pieces online, accessible to everybody. A Twitter profile will also be created, where the project's scientific contents will be communicated.
All these virtual actions will be accompanied by scientific outreach activities led by researchers from the project, both in-person and online, in educational centers, universities, cultural centers, research centers, museums, etc. This includes participating in the CENIEH's established scientific outreach programs, such as: Women and Science Week, White Night, European Researchers' Night, Science Week, and educational activities like Stem Talent Girl, seminars, school visits, etc.
