On July 7th, we mark thirteen years of research and outreach at the facilities inaugurated in 2009 with a lecture by the renowned primatologist Robert Martin on the evolution of human reproduction and Darwinian medicine
To mark the thirteenth anniversary of the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH) within the Human Evolution Complex on July 7th, the Fourth CENIEH Distinguished Annual Lecture will take place: this event aims to bring a scientist of renown in the field of human evolution to the city of Burgos, with the collaboration of the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) – Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación.
The guest speaker for this fourth edition of the event, which will mark 13 years of research and outreach at the facilities inaugurated in 2009, is the renowned primatologist Prof. Robert Martin, of the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine in Zurich and the Field Museum in Chicago, who will give a lecture on the evolution of human reproduction and Darwinian medicine.
In his talk, the author of the popular book “How We Do It: The Evolution and Future of Human Reproduction” will address topics relating to childbirth; the fall in spermatozoid numbers in industrialized countries; human longevity; and health problems linked to the menopause.
Invitations to attend this lecture can now be reserved either by calling 947040800, or by email to recepcion@ex.cenieh.es: it will be held on Thursday July 7th at 7 pm in the CENIEH Assembly Hall. Because the talk will be given in English, a simultaneous interpretation service into Spanish will be offered. The lecture can also be followed by streaming on the CENIEH YouTube channel.
