The CENIEH and the Scientific Committee of this international conference on Luminescence and ESR dating have agreed that it will be held in June next year, given the current situation around the world caused by the coronavirus pandemic
The sixteenth edition the Luminescence and Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) Dating Conference, the most important in the world, known as LED2020, will finally take place in the week June 21st to 25th 2021, instead of being held this July as was scheduled, due to the current situation around the world caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Organized by the Luminescence and ESR laboratories of the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH), with the collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de Burgos, and Obra Social “la Caixa” and the Fundación Caja de Burgos, this international conference will bring together more than 400 world experts in these scientific disciplines at the Human Evolution Complex. The visit to the Atapuerca System, Paleolítico Vivo and Mina Esperanza will round off a full week of activities that will make Burgos the core of world Geochronology.
“The concern for the health and welfare of participants, and the travel and mobility restrictions imposed in many countries have left us no choice, and we have had to reschedule it. But we are going to continue working during the additional time we will now have to make this Conference the best of all those held so far”, declare the geochronologists in charge of the ESR and Luminescence laboratories.
