Both institutions commit to quality as an indispensable tool for the application of the complex technical knowledge their work encompasses, and will carry out joint actions until the year 2024
The Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH) has renewed its collaboration with the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) for the enhancement of the competence and management of its laboratories, to guarantee excellence in the service and access to their facilities, through the formalization of an agreement.
The CENIEH, as a Unique Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (ICTS), has at its disposal the most modern facilities for undertaking research activity of excellence, while the USAL is the only entity in Spain whose quality system is accredited and certified to all of ISO 17025, ISO 15189, ISO 9001 and Best Laboratory Practices.
This combination, according to M. Isabel Sarró, Laboratory Manager at the CENIEH, “will let us continue improving what is currently implanted, fulfilling the demanding quality standards which the national and international R+D+i milieu requires and which the ICTS, by their very nature, ought to offer at all times”.
For her part, María José Haro, head of the Nucleus Laboratory Quality Service at the USAL, states that “the quality system extends to all the elements of a laboratory, because they all impinge on the results of the tests. This is an effort spanning several years undertaken between our Service and each laboratory, and which lies behind every one of the analytic results issued”.
This collaboration is the fruit of the commitment of both institutions to quality management as an indispensable tool for the application of the complex technical knowledge their work encompasses, and it will be embodied through joint actions which will take place until the year 2024.
