Prado Vargas
Pleistocene site located in the municipality of Cornejo, north of the province of Burgos, in the natural area of Ojo Guareña.
Homo neanderthalensis settlements.
The Prado Vargas cave has been systematically excavated since 2016. A large amount of Mousterian material has been recovered in an excellent state of preservation. The most important finding has been a Neanderthal milk tooth. This discovery confirms the great potential of this site to study the last and penultimate groups of Neanderthals.
